You will operate the dry cleaning machine and will be familiar with the operation of all washers, dryers, flat irons and pressing equipment.
You will report directly to the Manager Laundry.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintenance of dry cleaning machines, including oil levels, chemical changes, daily inspections and cleanliness of dry cleaning area.
- Responsible for the care of delicate fabrics and stain removal on dry cleaning items.
- Conduct final quality and audit inspection of all garments before and after dry cleaning; report damaged items to Laundry Manager
- Ensures efficient collection, sorting, cleaning and distribution of dry cleaning laundry.
- Responsible for ensuring the accurate use of safety equipment in the dry cleaning area.
- Maintains accurate supplies, maintenance, inspections and chemical usage.
- Partners with Laundry Manager and Engineering team to ensure maintenance and scheduling for the dry cleaning machines.
- Ensures that all appropriate chemicals are used and disposed of according to the approved MSDS and chemical list.
- Meet all Disney Cruise Line VSP sanitation expectations and requirements
- Meet Coast Guard Standards in designated areas
- Report equipment deficiencies and follow up on those AIMS entries.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent related experience, within the last 5 years
- Previous experience with chemicals
- Physically fit, with endurance to lift 50 lbs and bend
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior cruise line experience is a plus

This is a SHIPBOARD role.

- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmentality requirements and Company practices
- Be willing to be appreciative of working and living in a multi-cultural environment
- Be comfortable living in a confined space with strict rules and regulations
- Adhere to a structured lifestyle, personally and professionally
Your Responsibilities:
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
- Obtain a criminal background check
- Bring approved work shoes
