Driver Operator

Mō te tūranga | About the role

We’re looking for a Class 4 Driver/Operator to join our Northland team and help deliver quality work on the ground every day. In this role, you will work alongside the Regional Sealing teams, carrying out driving, operating, and labouring duties to keep work progressing safely, on time, and to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, takes safety seriously, and likes being part of a team that supports each other. You’ll report to a Foreperson or Supervisor and play an important part in frontline delivery. Your role includes incident response, rostered on-call shifts stay away trips during peak season.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

• Complete driving, operating and laboring tasks as directed by your Foreperson or Supervisor to support safe, efficient delivery of surfacing and roading projects.
• Only operate machinery and tools that you are trained, competent and licensed to use.
• Support site readiness by taking part in pre-start meetings, risk planning, lifting and shifting materials, and keeping the workplace clean and tidy.
• Follow all safety, quality and environmental processes, report incidents and near misses, and look for better and safer ways of working.

Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with

• Current Class 4 and license, W, T, R endorsements (must have)
• Class 5 will be beneficial as is experience with roller spreading
• At least 2 years’ experience working in sealing crews, driving and operating roading and surfacing plant and machinery (must have).
• Experience and understanding of traffic management requirements on sites (must have).
• A safety-first mindset, a reliable and team-focused approach, and a willingness to learn and develop your skills and experience.
