Position Summary

The Plumber is responsible for installing, modifying, maintaining, and commissioning plumbing systems in commercial and residential applications. This position performs work involving water supply, drainage, piping, gas systems, fixtures, boilers, water heaters, hydronic heating systems, and related plumbing components. The ideal candidate is experienced in plumbing installation and service and works effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, modify, and connect plumbing systems and components
• Install and assemble piping systems using materials including copper, PEX, PVC, CPVC, black iron, and other approved materials
• Install water supply, drainage, waste, vent, and gas piping systems as required
• Install and connect plumbing fixtures, water heaters, boilers, pumps, and related equipment
• Perform plumbing work associated with HVAC and hydronic heating systems as required
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, technical drawings, and manufacturer specifications
• Perform system layout, measurements, and material planning
• Ensure all installations meet applicable plumbing and gas codes, manufacturer requirements, and company safety standards
• Pressure test and inspect systems for leaks, proper operation, and code compliance
• Troubleshoot plumbing systems and identify problems or required repairs
• Coordinate with HVAC technicians, electricians, project managers, and other trades to complete work efficiently
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding plumbing work, installation details, and project requirements when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles
• Complete required job documentation accurately and on time
• Follow all company safety policies and required PPE practices
• Support other Plumbing Department needs as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid plumbing license or Journeyman Plumber license, as required by applicable state or local regulations
• Valid NH Gas license preferred or required for applicable work
• 3+ years of plumbing installation and/or service experience preferred
• Experience with commercial plumbing preferred
• Knowledge of applicable plumbing, gas, and mechanical codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical plans
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces, on ladders, and in other challenging work environments
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Preferred Skills

• Experience with commercial plumbing systems
• Experience installing and servicing boilers and water heaters
• Experience with hydronic heating systems
• Experience with indirect water heaters and pumps
• Experience with radiant floor heating systems
• Brazing and soldering proficiency
• Backflow certification, if applicable
• OSHA or other applicable safety training
• HVAC-related plumbing experience
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systems

Work Environment

• Commercial and residential job sites
• Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, and climbing
• May require working in confined spaces, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, attics, and other restricted areas
• May require use of ladders, lifts, and other approved means of access
• Exposure to plumbing systems, mechanical equipment, tools, construction environments, and varying jobsite conditions
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required as appropriate for the work environment
