DOL Modernization Project Manager
Location: Boston, MA
Job Type: Contract
Duration: Through June 30, 2027, with possible extension
Schedule: 37.5 hours/week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid β 3 days/week onsite for the first 90 days, then 2 days/week minimum
Position Summary
We are seeking an experiencedProject Manager to lead a large-scale technology modernization and software implementation initiative. The Project Manager will coordinate business, technical, and vendor stakeholders and ensure successful delivery throughout the development, testing, deployment, and maintenance lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex technology projects, multiple workstreams, external vendors, and software implementations. Experience managing large Salesforce deployments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities

Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria.

Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, status reports, and project documentation.

Manage project scope, budget, resources, dependencies, risks, and issues.

Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and technical partners.

Track deliverables and project milestones and escalate issues when required.

Lead meetings, communicate project status, and manage action items.

Develop and coordinate acceptance testing and business validation.

Support software deployments, testing, and release activities.

Maintain project budgets and track vendor billing and performance.

Ensure effective communication across business and technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
-
5β8+ years of IT Project Management experience managing complex, cross-functional technology projects.

Experience managing software implementations or large technology modernization projects.

Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience.

Strong risk, issue, dependency, and problem-management skills.

Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments.

Understanding of SDLC and software release management.

Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills.

Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams in a matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience managingSalesforce implementations or large Salesforce deployments.

Public-sector IT project management experience.

Experience with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Project, Planner, and/or Power BI.

PMP, Scrum Master, PRINCE2, or related certification.

Experience with organizational change management and end-user training.

Experience with contract management and external vendors.

Experience managing end-to-end software/product development.
Schedule Requirements
The position requires regular onsite presence in Boston. The candidate must be available during standard business hours and may occasionally be required to support vendor meetings, testing, deployments, and emergency system recovery, including scheduled weekend deployment activities.
