What will you do?
A day in the life of a Jr. Art Director at Altra looks a little like this.
The Junior Art Director supports the execution of Altra's brand vision across a variety of marketing channels. Working closely with Associate Creative Directors, Art Directors, brand marketing partners, copywriters, web developers, and cross-functional teams, this role contributes to the development and production of creative assets that bring campaigns and seasonal stories to life.
This position is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys collaborating with others, contributing ideas, and executing high-quality design work while continuing to grow their creative and technical skills under the guidance of senior creative leadership. This role reports to the Associate Creative Director.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
Support the development and execution of creative assets across integrated campaigns, website content, landing pages, email marketing, digital advertising, social media, video, print materials, and retail communications.
Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming, creative briefings, and concept development sessions.
Execute assigned design projects while maintaining alignment with established brand standards, creative direction, and project objectives.
Collaborate with Associate Creative Directors, Art Directors, Copy Writers, Web Developers, Marketers, and other cross-functional partners to create campaign and tactical marketing materials.
Conduct research on design trends, technology, consumer insights, competitor activity, and social media trends to support creative development.
Complete assigned projects and deliverables while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
Follow established creative processes and workflows while helping identify opportunities for increased efficiency and organization.
Demonstrate strong craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout all phases of creative development and production.
Assist with eCommerce and marketing photo shoots, including production coordination, asset preparation, and photo selection; studio experience preferred.
Assist in preparing and sharing creative concepts and rationale with internal stakeholders.
Participate in project reviews, creative critiques, and team meetings to support ongoing learning and development.
Work closely with traffic, production, and marketing partners to ensure assigned projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the creative team and broader business objectives.
What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundational skills you'll need to succeed and excel. While formal education in a related field is beneficial, we are most interested in candidates who demonstrate strong design fundamentals, creative problem-solving abilities, and a passion for storytelling through design.
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design or related field preferred; 0-2 years of professional design, creative, marketing, or related experience preferred.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Portfolio demonstrating strong design fundamentals, creative thinking, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, and Premiere.
Proficiency in Figma.
Understanding of print production and pre-press requirements.
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to clearly communicate creative ideas and receive feedback constructively.
Experience creating digital and marketing assets across multiple channels and platforms.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Creative mindset, curiosity, resourcefulness, and willingness to learn.
Passion for the Altra brand and running community.
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
Experience assisting with styling for photo or video productions.
Photography, photo editing, or content creation experience.
Motion design or animation experience.
Video editing experience.

Hiring Range:
$58,752.00 USD - $73,440.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive,or commission potential.
