Dispatch Operator

The Dispatch Operator dispatches appropriate ambulance and NET unit based on call information provided.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Effectively prioritize incoming ambulance and NET call requests
• Operate multiple incoming cellular and land telephone lines
• Use CAD System to dispatch ambulances and NET units
• Monitor the movement and availability of ambulance and NET units
• Communicate clearly and effectively with all Field & Operations personnel
• Accurately document all conversation details related to calls, dispatches, and messages  
• Troubleshoots mechanical/situational problems
• Contact Dispatch Supervisor, COO, and Fleet Manager as appropriate.
• Perform accurate basic data entry
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• EMS, Dispatcher and/or CAD experience is preferred
• Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in a busy work environment
• General knowledge of cities and locations of highways within Georgia
• Experience in customer service and answering multiple phone lines simultaneously
