The Global Banking team is responsible for managing and strengthening relationships with a diverse portfolio of financial institution clients, including bank, securities firm, asset managers and other non-banking financial institutions. By working closely with clients to understand their strategic priorities, the team delivers tailored banking solutions across lending, treasury, transaction banking, and other financial products. In close collaboration with regional and global stakeholders across the Mizuho network, the team helps drive meaningful client outcomes and long-term growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and non-bank financial institutions, acting as a trusted relationship manager and advisor.
- Identify, originate, and execute new business opportunities while deepening existing client relationships to support sustainable revenue growth.
- Develop tailored client coverage strategies based on a strong understanding of each client’s business model, financial profile, and market environment.
- Partner with internal product specialists, credit, compliance, and operations teams to structure and deliver appropriate banking solutions.
- Lead client transactions from origination through execution, ensuring smooth coordination and clear communication across all stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to identify opportunities and anticipate client risks.
- Support strategic initiatives and broader business development efforts, while providing guidance and support to junior team members as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in the banking industry with relevant experience to global markets.
- Proven experience in relationship management, client coverage, business development, or transaction execution with financial institutions or non-bank financial institutions.
- Strong knowledge of banking products, including lending, treasury, transaction banking, and other financial solutions
- Experience independently managing institutional client relationships and originating new business opportunities is highly preferred.
- Established relationships with financial institutions and relevant industry networks would be an advantage.
- Strong English skills (written and spoken) with the ability to prepare documentation and reports clearly and accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with a professional and collaborative approach.
- High attention to detail, with a strong commitment to accuracy, quality and controls.
- Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently when required.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
