About BTS Hospitality

BTS Hospitality is a large, well-established hospitality, catering, and event company — a progressive and diverse organization that has been serving the corporate, social, and production industries for more than 36 years. Headquartered in San Diego, California, we serve large corporations, private clients, major sports and news broadcast companies, venues, concert tours, PGA golf events, corporate marketing tours, and major sporting events throughout San Diego and across the globe.

The key to our success is summed up in one word: “Flexibility.” We understand that in today’s world the best-laid plans will change. We pride ourselves on an experienced, well-trained staff capable of managing change while still providing outstanding service — allowing us to accommodate almost any special request our guests may have.

We are committed to providing a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience to each and every guest. Our menus are specially selected to accommodate the most discriminating palate, and we use only the freshest ingredients in every menu item.

Position Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and energetic Director of Operations with at least 5 years of experience in the catering and event industry. The ideal candidate is comfortable establishing and cultivating relationships with new and existing clients and brings real passion to their work.

  • Manage and supervise all outgoing events and parties; ensure Catering Event Orders are complete and accurate and all paperwork is returned to the BTS office.
  • Ensure all equipment is picked up from clients promptly and properly inventoried at delivery and load-out.

Off-Site & Large-Scale Event Management

  • Plan and manage logistics for off-site special events, including large-scale events (e.g., Olympics, Rose Bowl, PGA Golf, 3-Day Walk), in coordination with the BTS Major Projects Manager.
  • Oversee all assigned venues, including service employees, menu integrity, timely service, set-up, clean-up, and overall operation of catering areas.
  • Supervise on-site Event Managers and Logistics Managers and monitor the performance of all staff at events.

  • Knowledge of and experience in the Southern California market preferred, but not required.
