POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Incident Management is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Incident Management Department and directly supervises five (5) Incident Management Specialists. Working under the direction of the Senior Director of Incident Management, the Director oversees departmental workflows, supports regulatory compliance, and serves as the primary operational liaison between the Incident Management Department and program leadership. The Director ensures routine incident management activities are completed in a timely manner and provides operational support, guidance, and follow-up necessary to maintain effective departmental processes.Â
POSITION DUTIES
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Incident Management Department and ensure established processes and regulatory requirements are followed.
- Directly supervises five (5) Incident Management Specialists, including workload assignments, coaching, training, performance evaluation, and ongoing staff development.
- Monitors incident activity, required notifications, immediate protection, safeguards, investigations, corrective actions, and other follow-up activities to support compliance with regulatory timeframes.
- Oversees the use and maintenance of the Incident Review and Management Application (IRMA) and departmental tracking systems to ensure incident information is accurate, complete, and current.
- Works collaboratively with the Director of Investigations to monitor investigation progress and address outstanding or overdue requirements.
- Serves as the primary day-to-day liaison between the Incident Management Department and program leadership and provides guidance and technical assistance regarding incident management requirements.
- Communicates and coordinates with OPWDD, the Justice Center, and other regulatory entities regarding routine incident management matters, in collaboration with the Senior Director of Incident Management.
- Supports the Senior Director in the coordination of Agency Incident Review Committee (IRC) activities, including reviewing submissions, monitoring recommendations and Corrective Action Plans, and providing guidance to Borough and Regional IRC Subcommittees.
- Monitors departmental compliance activities; identifies overdue or outstanding requirements and escalates significant concerns to the Senior Director as appropriate.
- Generates routine operational and compliance reports and maintains tracking systems to support departmental monitoring and reporting.
- Provides incident management training and technical assistance to staff and programs, as needed, in coordination with the Senior Director.
- Participates in committees, meetings, audits, surveys, regulatory reviews, and other departmental activities as assigned.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in incident management, quality assurance, investigations, regulatory compliance, or a related field within services for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities; OPWDD experience preferred.
- Supervisory or management experience, including staff development, performance management, and workload oversight.
- Working knowledge of OPWDD and Justice Center requirements related to incident management, reporting, investigations, safeguards, and corrective actions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, program leadership, regulatory representatives, and other stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and regulatory deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using incident management or tracking systems; IRMA experience preferred. - Ability to travel to multiple agency locations and work flexible hours and/or days as necessary.
- Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, agency policies and procedures, and the agency's corporate compliance program.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
