Status: Full-Time, Exempt (part-time possible for the right candidate’s needs)

We have the privilege of helping nonprofits turn their passion into nonprofit best practice by teaching biblical truths with sound business principles. The Development Director plays a central role in that work by leading the relationships and strategy that fund it.
Position Overview
The Development Director leads Mission Triangle's fundraising strategy and champion engagement, translating the Executive Director's vision into day-to-day strategy, systems, and relationships that sustain and grow a $1.5M+ annual operating budget. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Board, the Development Director champions Transformational Fundraising, personally cultivates and stewards key champions, and leads the Development Team in the execution of fundraising strategy, systems, and relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fundraising Strategy & Leadership
Create, manage, and execute the annual Development Plan and Development Calendar, adjusting as necessary to hit annual goals
Develop and lead annual fundraising strategy with stewardship of 250+ champions
Set and track annual revenue goals
Analyze champion engagement, giving trends, and campaign performance to inform strategy and Board reporting
Embrace Transformational Fundraising as a relational, Kingdom-minded discipline
Manage the development budget in partnership with the Executive Director
Champion Cultivation
Partner with the Executive Director on stewardship of the highest-capacity champions and personally cultivate relationships with the rest of our major champions
Maintain the 70% champion retention rate
Build and maintain the donor journey to track each champion's capacity and next step
Represent Mission Triangle at champion meetings, events, and community gatherings
Champion Events
Provide strategic direction for signature champion events (Annual Fundraiser, Shark Tank, Business for Kingdom Good) to hit event goals
Oversee End-of-Year and other giving campaigns
Grants
Secure 10-12% of revenue goals through grants
Maintain and expand our grant portfolio (family foundations, businesses, and churches), expanding into state-wide, regional and national grants to support our Network model
Team Leadership & Development Team Oversight
Set clear priorities and hold the Development team accountable to shared goals
Coach and develop team members and champions in fundraising
Serve as a key partner to the Executive Director in preparing Board fundraising updates
Serve on and support the Board's Development Committee as needed
Key Success Measures
Within the first year, success in this role will be measured by meaningful progress in champion engagement, revenue growth, and pipeline development. This is defined by:
At least 70% champion retention
Fundraising revenue increase by 10%
Meet leading metrics for champion meetings, grant leads, and new champion acquisition
Achieve event ROI goals
Qualifications
Mission & Calling
Mature follower of Jesus Christ with a genuine passion for Mission Triangle's mission
Agreement with Mission Triangle's statement of faith, values, and core beliefs
Energized rather than drained by asking on behalf of Kingdom work
Strategic Thinking & Tenacity
Balances big-picture strategy with the discipline to execute against a plan
Resilient in the face of setbacks or “no” and quick to identify the next best step
Analytical & Data-Centered
Uses data (dashboards, reports, etc.) to inform fundraising strategy
Proficient with Salesforce (or a comparable CRM), Excel, and reporting tools
Experience & Background
At least 7 years of fundraising experience required, ideally major gifts of $10,000+
Experience leading or significantly contributing to annual fundraising efforts of $1M+
Experience managing or mentoring team members
Familiarity with grant writing
Bachelor's degree required

Working conditions
This role typically requires Monday–Friday availability from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings, mornings, or weekends for events. Average work week is 40–45 hours.
