Role Purpose
The Director – Data & Analytics is responsible for establishing and operating a single, trusted enterprise analytics capability that enables safe, resilient, efficient, and passenger‐centric airport operations.
This role transforms data into real‐time operational intelligence and predictive insight, supporting airside operations, terminal operations, security, baggage, passenger experience, commercial performance, and crisis management.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the airport-wide data & analytics strategy; establish a single source of truth across operational, customer, IoT, and commercial data; and prioritize use cases that improve on-time performance, throughput, resilience, and passenger experience.
- Enable mission-critical decision-making by delivering real-time and predictive analytics for passenger flow and congestion, airside and landside operations, disruption and irregular operations (IROPs), and safety, compliance, and risk signals—supported by decision-ready dashboards for executives, IOC/IOCC, and operations leaders.
- Establish governance, data ownership, quality, lineage, and controls to ensure analytics outputs are auditable, explainable, and trusted, while safeguarding passenger data privacy and regulatory compliance.
- Lead advanced analytics and responsible AI by adopting predictive/prescriptive approaches, building AI/ML models for demand forecasting, disruption prediction, and resource optimization, and leveraging IoT-driven analytics using sensors, cameras, and operational systems to shift from reactive insight to proactive prevention.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team and partner across Operations, Security, Commercial & Concessions, and Technology/Architecture to align on shared metrics, outcomes, and common data definitions.
- Oversee enterprise data platforms (ingestion/integration, cloud data platforms, and BI/visualization tools) to meet availability, performance, and resilience requirements, and drive simplification and standardization across analytics tooling.
- Build and lead high-performing teams of data engineers, analysts, data scientists, and analytics translators, establish a product- and outcome-oriented operating model, and develop leadership and succession pipelines for critical analytics roles.
Key Requirements / Qualifications
- 15+ years overall experience, including 8–10+ years leading enterprise-scale data & analytics functions.
- Senior leadership experience delivering data & analytics in complex, high-availability, 24x7 environments where safety, reliability, and resilience are critical.
- Strong operations-driven analytics mindset (beyond traditional BI), with the ability to translate complex insights into clear, time-sensitive actions for operational leaders and executives.
- Demonstrated strength in executive communication and influencing senior stakeholders across cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: experience in airports, transportation, utilities, or other critical infrastructure sectors, plus exposure to IoT, real-time analytics, AI/ML, and large operational data platforms.
- Preferred: advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or Business.
