Purpose of the Role

Lead the Group digitalisation and business-systems portfolio so that ERP, business intelligence, integrations, automation and approved AI tools are reliable, secure, standardised and aligned to measurable business priorities. The role is accountable for protecting organisational data, governing ERP and AI use, improving data accuracy, delivering approved projects from concept through implementation and ensuring effective user adoption. The role leads the Group business-systems portfolio in partnership with Finance, Operations, Engineering and the relevant IT/security resources. Infrastructure, end-user support and electrical engineering work are included only where formally assigned, with agreed resources and accountability.

Minimum Requirements

Relevant degree or diploma in Information Systems, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Finance Technology, Business Systems or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience demonstrating the required ERP, business-systems and leadership capability. Relevant postgraduate, project, data-governance, cybersecurity or change-management qualifications are advantageous. An IT qualification combined with electrical experience is not mandatory.

Typically, 7+ years of ERP, business-systems or digital-transformation experience, including at least 3 years leading projects, an internal team or external service providers.

Essential: strong manufacturing ERP experience with MRP, BOMs, routings, inventory, production and manufacturing-process knowledge. Syspro experience is advantageous; candidates with comparable manufacturing ERP experience must demonstrate the ability to develop Syspro capability.

Demonstrated delivery of digital projects from concept through implementation, including process mapping, requirements, testing, change management, training and adoption.

Experience managing concurrent projects and controlling priorities, scope, timelines, budgets, benefits and risks.

Experience with Power BI or equivalent, dashboards, integrations, master data and data-quality controls.

Working knowledge of cybersecurity, access control, disaster recovery, compliance, IT risk, AI and LLM governance. Electrical manufacturing or engineering exposure is advantageous, rather than essential, where the candidate demonstrates the required manufacturing-process and ERP capability.

Schauenburg Systems is dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities. We strongly encourage EE candidates and individuals with disabilities to submit their applications.

    Responsibilities

Manufacturing ERP / Syspro governance: Govern the manufacturing ERP environment, including MRP, BOMs, routings, inventory, production, procurement, sales, Finance interfaces, access, configuration, upgrades, support and application lifecycle.

Data governance and protection: Implement the Group data-governance plan covering ownership, classification, approved storage and transfer, access, retention, backup, recovery, sharing, quality, confidentiality and incident escalation.

Approved AI and LLM controls: Implement and administer the approved AI and LLM control framework, approved-tool register and approved-use-case register in accordance with the Approved AI and LLM Tool Control Schedule. Ensure approval before use, permitted-data restrictions, competent human review, evidence retention, monitoring and incident escalation. AI-enabled automation must have defined action and authority limits, exception handling, change control, rollback and a tested suspension method; AI does not transfer human accountability.

Data accuracy and integrity: Implement master-data standards, validation rules, integration controls, reconciliations, exception reporting and data-quality monitoring. Business process owners remain accountable for source-data accuracy, definitions and approval.

Digital project portfolio management: Lead concurrent projects from business case and scope through requirements, design, testing, implementation, adoption, benefits tracking and post-implementation review. Control priorities, scope, dependencies, resources, timelines, risks and budgets.

Business process improvement and automation: Map processes with business owners, identify control gaps, duplication and manual effort, and implement approved workflow and automation improvements.

BI, reporting and data integration: Govern Power BI or equivalent platforms, dashboards, data models, interfaces and source-to-report controls. Ensure approved definitions, traceable calculations and controlled access.

Change, release and adoption: Ensure ERP, integration, reporting, AI and configuration changes are requested, assessed, tested, approved, documented, released and supported by rollback arrangements. Lead training, cut-over and adoption.

Cybersecurity, access and IT risk: Maintain cybersecurity, access, vulnerability, compliance and technology-risk governance. Ensure segregation of duties is designed into systems and exceptions are formally approved and monitored. Coordinate implementation and assurance with the designated IT/security owners and service providers; this role does not replace their formally assigned responsibilities.

Business continuity and disaster recovery: Ensure critical systems, backups, recovery procedures and disaster-recovery arrangements are documented, tested and improved. Prioritise incidents affecting manufacturing, payroll, Finance close or Group reporting.

Vendor, licensing and application lifecycle: Manage vendors, implementation partners and software providers against contracts, SLAs, security obligations, costs and deliverables. Govern licences, renewals, ownership, obsolescence, supportability and exit planning.

Team leadership and capability: Lead and develop internal resources, allocate work, review delivery, maintain cross-cover, address performance and build sustainable internal capability.

Innovation and emerging technology: Evaluate AI, automation, analytics and emerging technologies against business value, data protection, security, integration, supportability, control and total cost. Pilot only approved use cases with documented safeguards and success measures.

    Managerial Accountability Competencies

The incumbent is accountable for the performance, control, accuracy, timeliness and conduct of the Digitalisation function. Work may be delegated to employees, vendors or project resources, but accountability for the outcome remains with the Digitalisation Manager. Clear ownership, appropriate review, cross-cover, performance management and timely escalation are mandatory. Delegated work must have documented responsibilities, deliverables, review points and escalation routes. Delegation does not expand approval rights or transfer business-owner accountability.

    Competencies

Technical: manufacturing ERP; MRP, BOM and production processes; digital transformation; project governance; BI and integration; data governance and quality; change and release management; working knowledge of cybersecurity and continuity, AI/LLM governance, and vendor and application lifecycle management. Advantageous: Syspro and electrical manufacturing exposure.

Leadership / Management: Strategy; portfolio prioritisation; scope and budget control; team leadership; stakeholder engagement; executive communication; vendor accountability; change leadership; policy implementation; escalation management.

Behavioural: Forward-thinking and pragmatic; commercially aware; structured problem solving; ownership; resilience; attention to detail; collaborative influence; integrity; innovation with control.
