Cultural Health Navigator (Spanish)

Position Summary:
University Health is seeking aCultural Health Navigator (CHN) to support equitable healthcare access for refugee, immigrant, and underserved communities. In this vital role, you’ll help patients overcome cultural and linguistic barriers by providinginterpretation,navigation support, andresource connection to ensure access to care and community services.

You'll play a central role in promotinghealth equity, screening for social needs, and guiding patients—particularly Black, Hispanic, and uninsured populations—through healthcare systems with empathy, cultural understanding, and personalized support.

What You’ll Need:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent education/experience

  • Proficient in theEnglish and Spanish language required

  • At least1 year of healthcare interpretation experience (preferred)

  • Successful completion ofBridging the Gap,JCCC,SBA, or equivalent

  • Excellent interpersonal andcross-cultural communication skills

  • Deep understanding of immigrant/refugeecultural, social, and economic needs

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • High empathy, strong self-awareness, and a passion for community impact

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Community Health Worker and/orNational Healthcare Interpreter Certification

  • Proven ability to build trust and navigate diverse community relationships
