DevOps Engineer Professional

Position Title: DevOps Engineer Professional
Location: fully onsite in McLean, VA
Duration: 6 months with possible extension

Must Have Qualifications:Must have 2-4 years hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins). Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, cloud platforms such as AWS, and infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and CloudFormation. Knowledge of Java, Python or similar programing language is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Java-based applications.
• Automate deployment processes and infrastructure provisioning.
• Support containerization efforts using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor application and system health, assist in troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve build and release workflows.
• Help manage cloud infrastructure (AWS).
• Apply security best practices in day-to-day workflows.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response (with guidance).
• Document processes, configurations, and runbooks.
• Contribute to automation initiatives that reduce manual effort.

• 2–4 years of experience in DevOps, software development, or related roles.
• Working knowledge of Java and the JVM ecosystem (Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle).
• Experience with at least one CI/CD tool (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and basic Kubernetes concepts.
• Exposure to at least one cloud platform (AWS).
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).
• Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or Groovy).
• Understanding of version control (Git) and branching strategies.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
