
Development Assistant - 1 Position
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Student Support & Programme Coordination (15%)
Manage the scholarship intake, monitoring, and follow-up.
Conduct graduate follow-up and tracer activities.
Prepare and teach Life Skills classes
Coordinate Girls & Boys Clubs and other assigned student development activities.
Assist with programme events, including Open Houses, Graduation, and other school events.
Develop relationships with industry partners for employment opportunities for students
B. Monitoring & Information Management (10%)
Maintain accurate student, scholarship, graduate, and programme records.
Support data collection for reports, evaluations, and organizational monitoring.
Track graduate outcomes and scholarship performance.
Maintain information required for organizational reporting and decision making.
Maintain employer and alumni information to support graduate engagement.
C. Communications & Development Support (75%)
Collect stories, photographs, and videos from program activities.
Maintain the content tracking system.
Draft stories and reports for review.
Draft and schedule social media posts.
Support translation and documentation of programme activities.
Prepare videos and graphics for sharing.
Work with the Development Assistant and Development Officer to prepare communications materials.
Set up documents for proposal writing
Draft content for VTI-related grants
D. General Responsibilities
Carry out other duties assigned
Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, professional development, and organizational learning activities.
Prepare weekly reports and work plans the Friday before each work week

Qualifications and Competencies
Certificate in the field of Journalism, Public Relations, Social Work and Administration, or a related field,
M&E qualification and experience is an added advantage
At least 1 year working experience in a related field
Experience with Social Media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, youtube. etc.)
Agree with Christian mission, values, and objectives of Ignite Change
Passionate about helping vulnerable groups of people
Must be effective in written and verbal communication in English
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Computer literate: writing and reporting skills
Ability to complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner, with minimal or no prompting
Ability to work in field conditions
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends
Flexible to adapt to the ever-changing environment of a growing organization
Motivated, independent learner
Self-motivated and innovative
Preferred
Experience in content creation, documentation, social media management, or programme support
A valid riding permit
