Job Summary
The main function of aDesktop Technician is to be responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of Windows desktops. These roles will support high volume walk-up traffic in the innovations hub at Owings Mills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the software and hardware life cycle management processes including research, packaging, quality assurance, and deployment preparation
- Set up new users, including desktop configuration, email accounts, LDAP accounts, VPN accounts
- Support employees, both local and remote, with desktop issues, account issues, and access to various internal services
- Troubleshoot software issues on employees' desktops/laptops
- Some off hours support may apply
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Windows OS
- Experience with desktop installation and configuration
- Experience troubleshooting desktop issues as well as mobile devices
- Customer service skills β role requires being customer-facing the entire day in person at the innovation hub
- Strong troubleshooting skills, including Office 365 suite and Excel Macros
- Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills for walk-up, high-volume support environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a financial institution or large enterprise environment
- Experience working in an innovation hub or lab environment with direct customer interaction
Education Requirements
- Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
Required Experience
- 5β7 years of experience required (note: quality of troubleshooting experience is weighted heavily β candidates with strong hands-on troubleshooting ability across a range of years of experience will be considered)

- This role is located within an innovation hub (new space) and requires the candidate to be customer-facing the entire day, in person
- Candidates must demonstrate a combination of technical skills and strong customer service skills β the role goes beyond ticket escalation and requires active, hands-on troubleshooting
