Title: Designer

Department: Laser, Design, and Die (LDD)

Location: Hawn Avenue

Wage Category: Non-Exempt

Report To: Assistant Director, Laser, Design, and Die

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Generate designs for non-skid kits or pieces by utilizing the AutoCAD program
• Assist in the design process
• Assist in meeting production goals
• Establish drawings and checklist for quality assurance inspections
• Ensure designs are properly installed in laser cutter before manufacturing
• Maintain detailed records of all designs in readily assessable files
• Communicate effectively with military personnel and equipment manufacturers both verbally and in writing
• Be familiar with costing practices
• Be available to work flexible hours when required
• Ensure detailed records of all engineering drawings and designs are accurate and formatted correctly on servers in readily assessable files
• Research and development of new products and equipment
• Have a firm operating knowledge of Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machine operations and software
• All other duties deemed necessary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Formal training on AutoCAD software or two years of practical experience
• General operating knowledge of office machinery and computer systems
• General operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe software
• Must be a self-starter and work efficiently without supervision
• Must be self-motivated to finish a task in a timely and efficient manner
