Summary:
- Location: New Hudson, MI
- Duration: 3 Months
Responsibilities:
- Lead product and system design and development.
- Focus on mechanical system and product design using CAD and structural analysis (FEA).
- Engage in system physics modeling and characterization.
- Develop CAD system and component concepts and packaging.
- Apply linear-static Finite Element Analysis in design optimization.
- Generate technical drawings and prepare project status reports.
- Conduct test design, development, and reporting (DVP&R).
- Guide lower-level engineers.
- Support and resolve customer problems using mechanical, analytical, CAE, and project management skills.
- Prepare technical specifications and develop testing methods and procedures.
- Support manufacturing by answering questions and responding to ECRs.
- Investigate alternative business opportunities.
- Function as system-level primary customer contact in some scenarios.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8 years of engineering employment experience.
- BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Creo, NX, and/or Catia CAD software.
- Experience with Ansys Mechanical Workbench.
- Familiarity with Structural design (frame, brackets, subframes).
- Design for Additive Manufacturing and Windchill PDM/PLM.
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong CAD and Ansys Mechanical User.
- Top-notch communication skills.
- Strong technical writing, communication, team, and organizational skills.
- Interest in technology and learning new things.
- Ability to support technicians and shop builds.
- Operate simple hand tools.
