What to Expect
Megapack is growing fast, and our factories have to build the right product at the right time for customers around the world. As a Demand Planner, you'll own the plan for one of our Megapack factories, turning what Sales is selling into a build plan the factory can run. You'll work every day with Sales, along with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance. The role is based in our Palo Alto, CA or Austin, TX office.Â
This job is mostly about communication and planning. You'll be the person Sales calls to ask “can we deliver this, and when?” Your job is to give them a clear, reliable answer, even when it's not the one they wanted. If you like keeping a lot of moving parts organized and explaining a plan simply to the people who depend on it, this role is a good fit.Â
What You’ll Do
- Own the demand plan for your factory: which projects get built, in what quarter, and in what configuration
- Be the day-to-day planning contact for Sales on your factory's projects. Answer delivery-timing questions, check whether new deals fit, and explain trade-offs when they don't
- Keep the build plan in line with signed contracts, customer site readiness, and the sales pipeline. Update it when things change, and tell the people affected
- Work with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to match the plan to what the factory and suppliers can actually support
- When supply is tight, recommend how to allocate it across projects, and explain the reasoning to Sales and leadership
- Prepare clear weekly updates on what changed, why, and what needs a decision, and take part in the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Keep planning files and processes clean and documented so others can rely on them
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2–4 years of full-time experience in demand planning, supply chain, operations, sales operations, or a similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication. You write short, clear emails that answer the question, and you can explain a plan to a salesperson or a director
- Strong planning, organization, and Excel skills. You track many projects and dates at once, follow through without reminders, and stay steady when plans change often
- Detail-oriented where it counts. You notice when a number or date doesn't match and chase it down before it reaches a customer
- Comfortable telling a partner team “not this quarter” and offering a workable alternative
