Job Description Summary
The Completions Operations Supervisor oversees safe, efficient deepwater well operations, with a focus on completions delivery. This role operationalizes engineering programs and manages key interfaces to support seamless execution, stakeholder alignment, and successful installation of the completion.
The supervisor influences teams and contractors to achieve world‐class HSSE, cost, and schedule results, driving continuous improvement and standardization throughout the completions phase.
Job Description
Typically:
- Review and operationalize completion programs, ensuring the engineering design is translated into a safe, executable field plan. Lead operational planning, readiness assurance, supplier coordination, and offshore execution support.
- Confirm that engineering drawings are complete and execution-ready.
- Support and/or lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and collaborate with Productive Time and Contracting teams to close performance gaps.
- Manage operational and HSSE interfaces with completion service providers and hold suppliers accountable for equipment, personnel, and service readiness.
- Conduct shop visits, tool loadouts, SITs, and audits with strong QA/QC focus to ensure equipment and service readiness.
- Identify, develop, and implement new technologies and opportunities to optimize field operations.
- When operations are not active, work from the office to plan and prepare for upcoming activities, ensuring readiness and seamless transitions between operational phases.
- Develop and coordinate the work plan, obtaining input from others as required to meet defined objectives.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated field experience preparing for, executing, or supervising deepwater completions operations.
- Proven ability to identify operational risks, challenge service providers, and resolve readiness or execution issues.
- Willing and able to work offshore during completion operations and travel regularly to supplier facilities.
- HUET Certification – or ability to acquire.
- TWIC card – have or ability to acquire.
- Engineering or relevant technical degree preferred, but equivalent deepwater completions field experience will be considered.
- Well control certification (IWCF/IADC) and offshore survival certifications (or ability to obtain).
Preferred Experience & Attributes
- Strong operational mindset with a track record of safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution.
- Previous experience with a completion service provider, equipment supplier, tool shop, or service center.
- Hands-on experience with completion equipment preparation, tool make-up, testing, SITs, loadouts, and offshore execution.
- Deepwater wellsite supervision or completion field-leadership experience.
- Ability to identify operational risks, constructively challenge suppliers, and resolve readiness issues before mobilization.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and service providers.
- Clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working across diverse, multicultural teams and environments.
Travel & Work Environment
Onshore based, with expectation to travel offshore and to supplier facilities.
