Florida Tech seeks a visionary, entrepreneurial, and collaborative Dean to lead the success, growth, and future of the College of Business. Reporting directly to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Dean will provide strategic leadership across academic programs, research and scholarship, faculty development, student success initiatives, fundraising, corporate partnerships, and global engagement.

The successful candidate will serve as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College, leading a multidisciplinary faculty and professional staff while fostering innovation, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, strengthening business and industry partnerships, and ensuring the highest standards of academic quality and ethical practice.

Qualifications

 

The successful candidate must possess:

 

  • An earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree from an accredited institution in business or a closely related discipline.
  • Scholarly, professional, or practice-based achievements warranting appointment as a tenured Full Professor within the College of Business.
  • A distinguished record of teaching, academic, professional, and administrative accomplishment.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, including program-level, departmental, collegiate, or university-level strategic planning and decision-making.
  • In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following preferred qualifications:
  • A minimum of five years of progressive academic leadership experience, with prior service as a dean, associate dean, department chair, center director, or comparable leadership role strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and consensus-building skills.
  • Proven success in fundraising, corporate partnership development, and alumni engagement.
  • Experience collaborating with industry, professional associations, government agencies, and international business organizations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business school accreditation processes (e.g., IACBE, AACSB, ACBSP or equivalent) and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Record of successful faculty recruitment, retention, and mentoring.
  • Familiarity with emerging areas such as data analytics, fintech, entrepreneurship, global business, supply chain management, sustainability, and digital transformation.
  • Experience with executive education, online and hybrid program delivery, and workforce-aligned credentialing.

 

Responsibilities

 

Academic Leadership

 

  • Provide strategic vision and leadership for the College of Business.
  • Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement across undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.
  • Ensure academic quality, innovation, and alignment with workforce and industry needs.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration within the college and across Florida Tech.
  • Ensure programs maintain appropriate academic accreditations and certifications.
  • Develop and support collaborative degree programs across colleges.

 

Faculty and Staff Management

  • Lead recruitment, retention, evaluation, and professional development of faculty and staff.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and support faculty promotion and tenure processes.
  • Facilitate mentoring and leadership development for junior and mid-career faculty.
  • Promote a collegial, inclusive, and high-performing academic culture.

Research, Innovation, and Professional Practice

  • Champion impactful scholarship, applied research, and industry-engaged practice aligned with business disciplines.
  • Support faculty in securing external funding, corporate sponsorships, and philanthropic support.
  • Promote student engagement in internships, consulting projects, case competitions, and experiential learning.
  • Encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-enabled business education.

 

Student Success and Career Outcomes

  • Advance student recruitment, retention, and graduation initiatives.
  • Strengthen career readiness, placement, and employer engagement.
  • Expand internship pipelines, co-op opportunities, and experiential learning programs.
  • Support graduate and executive education offerings that align with regional and global workforce needs.

 

Financial and Administrative Leadership

  • Manage college budget, resources, and enrollment planning effectively.
  • Partner with university leadership on financial strategy, program growth, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with University Advancement to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
  • Maintain a portfolio of corporate partners and donors across business sectors.

 

External Relations and Engagement

  • Serve as the chief representative of the College of Business to external constituencies.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with corporations, entrepreneurs, alumni, advisory boards, and professional organizations.
  • Promote the College’s visibility, reputation, and thought leadership regionally, nationally, and globally.
  • Expand executive education, professional development, and community engagement initiatives.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech’s 2026 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.
 
The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.
 
The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts of all collegiate work must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Office of Human Resources prior to the first day of employment. All international degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES).
