Security System Associate

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

1.    Assists the Systems Administrator in overseeing administration of all security systems and support functions conducted by the BIDMC Public Safety Department, as well as some BILH systems off site.

2.    Works at the direction of the Systems Administrator throughout the Medical Center in establishing a secure and safe environment. Works closely with Employee Health & Safety, Radiation Safety, Facilities Planning & Maintenance, Information Systems, BILH and other BIDMC-related organizations as necessary.

3.    Maintains high quality standards within access control, CCTV and radio systems making timely reports of system status changes.

4.    Works on  projects, repairs or special system issues with security vendors and BIDMC stakeholders.

5.    Supports  the Systems Administrator with maintaining photo ID system, its database and all photo ID-related materials.

6. Works on assigned tasks given by the Systems Administrator or Chief of Police.

7.    Conducts Monthly Preventative Maintenance checks of Panic Buttons on patient floors, and status checks on all emergency call boxes on the BIDMC Campus.

8.    Conducts quarterly Preventative Maintenance checks of panic buttons at administrative offices and off site locations.

Required Qualifications:

1.    High School diploma or GED required.

2.    1-3 years related work experience required.

3.    Strong understanding of security systems and principles.

4.    Excellent customer service skills are essential.

5.    Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to the  functional areas and related systems.

Pay Range:

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
