About The Job:
- Our Customer is seeking candidates with more in-depth knowledge on database concepts and good hands-on experience who can support Production databases too (on-prem & cloud) and on-call support in taking care of various database issues/scenarios, issue troubleshooting skills with minimal training/guidance and fast self-learning.
- We are looking for candidates who can contribute immediately to our database engineering initiatives with minimal ramp-up time.
- Especially with offshore teams working remote and in a different timezone,
- it would be very difficult if they cannot manage tasks by themselves without detailed training.
- 3–5 years of experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL administration
- Familiarity with database architecture, SQL query basics, and performance troubleshooting
- Understanding of backup and recovery concepts
- Willingness to support24/7 on-call rotation
- Basic knowledge of Linux-based systems and command-line tools
- Good communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Nagios)
- Exposure to cloud-based databases (AWS RDS/Aurora)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform) or scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Experience working in production environments with SRE or DevOps practices
