As a Product Manager you will be responsible for shaping Insitu’s products.  This role works closely with the product line Chief Engineer, Director and Strategy teams to deliver immense Customer value based on operational feedback, market trends and stated Customer mission needs. The Product Manager:

• Works with senior leadership, Engineering, Program managers, Strategy and/or Business Development to enact the overarching development strategy and coordinates capability development to establish a product definition which delivers integrated capabilities to support business objectives.
• Monitor and maintain competitive intelligence assessment;
• Implements the evolution of capabilities and advances the architecture of existing systems or emerging subsystems and technology.
• Develop and maintain product roadmaps, requirements, white-papers.
• Achieves goals for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. Prioritizes team inputs, aligned to an integrated technical and/or product roadmap, to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved.
• Reviews plans' execution, makes appropriate adjustments, and resolves issues in collaboration with Product Line Manager(s) and Chief Engineers.
• Develops and executes process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
• Monitors, demonstrates, documents and reports the product’s implementation, timelines, budgets, issues, risks, risk mitigation and successes to stakeholders.
• Establishes partnerships and maintains strong and effective stakeholder working relationships.
• Develop and monitor product lifecycle strategies, sustainment and obsolescence oversight.
• Oversee resource management and allocation
• Coordinate with functional leaders, senior product line managers and Chief Engineers to establish project resource plans for the execution of a development portfolio inclusive of: capital expenditures, sustainment, IRAD, CSR&D, CRAD, BD Assist, B&P and IWA’s.

Education & Experience:

• Technical bachelor’s degree and 14 or more years related work experience or a master’s degree with 12 or more years of related work experience.
• A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in mathematics, sciences or technologies.
• Proven ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive actionable business decisions.
• Experience leading and building high-performing teams through effective influence and communication.
• Strong business and financial acumen with demonstrated ability to develop strategies based on economic and industry analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information across diverse audiences.
• Track record of prioritizing customer needs and building long-term customer relationships.
• Solid decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate options and implement effective solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of UAS, autonomous systems, ISR, aerospace and weapon systems, including airframes, subsystems, components, and software.
• Demonstrated application of engineering judgment to ensure quality and integrity in product design.
• Skilled at gaining commitment and buy-in from stakeholders using adaptive interpersonal approaches.
• Strong understanding of industry trends, competition, and strategic partnerships.
• Experience in providing technical leadership, coaching teams, and driving technical excellence.
• Knowledge of complete product lifecycle management, from manufacturing through to end-of-life.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Understanding of Defense Acquisition, Contracting and international markets.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with C4ISR.
• Strong financial and business case development skills.

Travel Requirement 

This position requires Domestic and International travel up to 20%.

In-Office Requirement Statement:

This position is eligible for hybrid work. It is our strong preference that this position is on-site three days per week to allow for maximum collaboration and connection to the team and product. However, depending on the candidate’s location, experience, and qualifications, we may have some flexibility in the frequency of on-site days.
