Intern Analyst, Pension Operations (January 2027 - April 2027)

THE ROLE

We are actively recruiting for anIntern Analyst, Pension Operations roles to join our team inWinter 2027, for a 4-month or 8-month internship. The Intern Analyst is responsible for supporting all aspects of pension administration including annual statement production, processing benefit calculations, developing and testing calculation tools, and other initiatives. The incumbent will also be required to have ongoing interactions with the pension data and pension policy teams, internal actuaries, legal advisors, and senior management.

This role is based in downtown Toronto under a hybrid work policy, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in-office (approximately two days per week in-office).

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

The key areas of accountability for the Intern Analyst include: (i) supporting cyclical activities such as annual statements and pension indexation, (ii) preparing complex and/or non-routine member benefit calculations, and (iii) supporting other key pension services initiatives.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

Pension Services Support

• Projects and tasks include preparing and/or reviewing complex or non-routine annual statements, preparing and/or reviewing pension benefit calculations, pension indexation calculations, supporting data cleansing review and update initiatives, supporting proof of life and missing member initiatives, and other duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Completion of second-year business, finance or actuarial science program
• Some pension plan or actuarial industry experience is an asset
• Strong ability to set up and manipulate spreadsheets in Excel
• Strong computer skills including solid grasp of MS Office applications and advanced Excel skills
• Experience coding SQL, Mail Merge or Excel VBA are assets
