Our newest location (opening late September 2026)will serve as Cuyahoga County’s first 24/7, walk-in behavioral health urgent care and stabilization center, offering people in crisis a safe, welcoming alternative to emergency rooms, jail, or the street

The Opportunity    

We are seeking aMedical Director of Crisis Servicesto oversee psychiatric care across our Crisis Receiving Center, which includes a 40-chaircrisis receiving center, serving individuals in a mental health or substance usecrisis and a 16-bed voluntary crisis stabilization unit, in collaboration with our on-sitemedically managed withdrawal program, working side-by-side with a passionate multidisciplinary team

What You'll Do

  • Promote a patient-centered, trauma-informed approach to crisis assessment, stabilization, and treatment.
  • Foster a culture of respect, engagement, and collaboration that supports individuals across a wide range of behavioral health and substance use needs.
  • Support low-barrier access to evidence-based psychiatric and addiction treatment services.
  • Provide clinical leadership and direct psychiatric care within crisis services. 
  • Supervise and mentor clinical staff, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices.
  • Conduct psychiatric assessments, prescribe medications, and oversee treatment planning. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
  • Monitor program outcomes, support quality improvement, and contribute to organizational strategy. 
  • Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies as needed. 

Working Conditions   

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking within a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to respond rapidly to emergencies. 
  • Occasional lifting of patients or equipment up to 25lbs. 
  • Manual dexterity tooperate medical and office equipment. 
  • Visual and auditory acuityrequired for assessments and communication. 
  • Exposure to individualsin acute psychiatric distress. 
  • Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and on-call coverage as needed.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications  

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school (MD/DO). 
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry (required).
  • Ohio Medical License (or eligibility). 
  • Addiction Psychiatry Board Certification (preferred). 
  • At least3years’ experience in crisis services, behavioral health, or substanceuse treatment.
  • Leadership and management experience in behavioral health preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, trauma-informed care that respects individual goals, promotes engagement, and reduces barriers to treatment
