Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect with strong expertise in data mapping, data warehousing, data architecture, SQL, and Databricks. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience analyzing existing data products, gathering business and technical requirements, and developing source-to-target mappings for migrating data from an existing Oracle Exadata environment to a new source system, Helix.

This role focuses on data architecture, data analysis, and business-to-technical alignment rather than being limited to a specific technology. A Technical Project Manager with strong data domain knowledge, SQL expertise, and hands-on data mapping experience may also be a suitable fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing data products and understand the current Oracle Exadata environment, including data structures, tables, fields, and business usage.

• Engage with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and understand data needs, usage patterns, and technical specifications.

• Collaborate with the Helix source system team to map business-required columns and fields from the existing environment to the new source system.

• Prepare detailed Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents, including source fields, target fields, transformation rules, and mapping requirements.

• Guide and mentor junior team members in preparing and maintaining Source-to-Target Mapping documentation.

• Provide technical guidance to developers and data engineers as they migrate source data to the Analytics Platform and build target tables aligned with business requirements.

• Facilitate technical discussions among Helix source system teams, data engineers, business users, and other stakeholders.

• Support data architecture and data warehousing decisions to ensure target data structures meet business and analytical requirements.

• Leverage SQL to analyze data, validate mappings, investigate data discrepancies, and support data quality checks.

• Apply Databricks expertise to support data architecture, data engineering discussions, and target data platform design.

• Track mapping issues, resolve requirement gaps, and ensure alignment between business expectations and technical implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• years of relevant experience in data architecture, data warehousing, data mapping, or enterprise data analysis.

• Expert-level experience in Source-to-Target Data Mapping and mapping documentation.

• Strong understanding of enterprise data architecture and data warehousing concepts.

• Deep proficiency in Databricks.

• Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.

• Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.

• Experience analyzing existing data products, data structures, tables, and fields.

• Experience supporting data migration or source-system transition initiatives.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across business and technical teams.

• Ability to guide developers and junior team members on mapping documentation and technical design questions.

• Experience working with data engineers, business users, and source system teams to deliver data solutions aligned with business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Exadata or similar enterprise database environments.

• Experience migrating data from legacy or existing source systems to modern analytics platforms.

• Experience developing and maintaining Source-to-Target Mapping documents for complex enterprise data products.

• Experience supporting analytics platforms, target-table design, and data transformation requirements.

• Experience in a Technical Project Manager or data delivery leadership role with strong technical data expertise.
