Data Migration Governance Lead

• Build and operate a Migration Governance Framework covering migration standards, roles and accountability, migration readiness gates, quality assurance, issue remediation and audit.
• Define and run the migration readiness gate the go/no-go control before every migration event.
• Establish decision authority, rollback procedures and escalation paths across all migration stakeholders.
• Work closely with the migration team, client leadership and third-party vendors to ensure governance is embedded into every wave.
• Own the migration governance playbook building, refining and maintaining it as the programme scales.
• Report to senior client leadership on governance posture, risks and decisions.

What We Are Looking For

• 8–12 years of experience in data migration, programme governance or technology delivery.
• Must have delivered at least one end-to-end migration project in a hands-on capacity.
• Strong background in defining and operating governance frameworks on large-scale programmes.
• Experience working on complex multi-stakeholder engagements involving third party vendors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills this role interfaces at senior leadership level.
• Comfortable working onsite in a client-embedded model.
• Experience on public sector programmes is a plus
• Experience in risk and quality management including migration risk assessment, dependency tracking, issue resolution, data validation and governance controls.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of AWS services relevant to data migration including S3, RDS, Glue and DMS
• PostgreSQL or equivalent relational database platforms.
• Background in data migration or data warehousing
• SQL query writing, data validation and reconciliation.
• Python scripting for automation and data processing.
• Data modelling ability to understand and work with complex data models across source and target systems.
