Locations: Newark, NJ
Duration: 06+ Months with Possible Extension.
Pay Range: $55-$60/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist with a strong background in the investment management or financial services sector. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and operationalization of our enterprise data governance framework. You will act as a bridge between technical data teams and investment stakeholders, leveraging Ataccama ONE to automate data profiling, monitor data quality rules, and secure critical financial data assets
Job Title: Data Governance Specialist
Key Responsibilities
Governance Frameworks: Define and implement data governance policies, standards, business glossaries, and data stewardship models specific to investment data (e.g., reference data, positions, trades, pricing, and client reporting)
Ataccama Implementation: Configure and manage Ataccama for automated data quality profiling, anomaly detection, monitoring, and master data tracking
Data Lineage & Cataloging: Build and maintain end-to-end data lineage maps for critical data elements (CDEs) flowing from market data vendors and trading systems into reporting and analytics layers
Data Quality & Remediation: Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and data quality rules; troubleshoot root causes of data errors and drive operational remediation processes
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with portfolio managers, risk teams, compliance officers, and IT custodians to embed data governance practices early in the data lifecycle
Qualification
Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in data governance, data quality, or metadata management, with at least 3 years working inside an Investment Management, Asset Management, or Capital Markets environment.
Tooling Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience configuring and utilizing Ataccama (for data quality profiling, monitoring, or master data management).
Domain Knowledge: Deep familiarity with financial instruments, portfolio accounting data, market data feeds, and wealth management workflows.
Technical Skills: Strong SQL capabilities and familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, or AWS).
Communication: Exceptional stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical data issues into business solutions.
