The Internship assignment:

We are seeking a talented Data Engineer Intern for General Assembly Shop. As a Data Engineer Intern, you'll collaborate with our data team to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure. Interact with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and address complex data issues.

What You’ll Do

• Document dashboards and data processing in General Assembly. 
• Support data validation, monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure reliable data flows. 
• Interact with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and address complex data issues. 
• Ability to work with complex data sets in fast paced environment. 
• Assist in developing and optimizing ETL. Participate in code reviews to understand collaborative development. 
• Strong ability to write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and analysis 
• Collect, clean, preprocess, and analyse datasets to prepare for evaluation. 
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data. 
• Support on back-end and front-end development. 
• Experience with AI tools and models.

What You’ll Bring

• Typically pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronic engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related field. 
• Strong knowledge of SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) 
• Strong prompting skills.
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python; experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) is a plus. 
• Jira and Confluence knowledge. 
• Experience in version controlling (GitHub) 
• Splunk knowledge is a plus. 
• Fluent in English.
