Data Engineering Internship

What to Expect

Tesla’s EMEA Data Science team is part of the centralized EMEA Business Analytics organization. We build and operate production data pipelines and internal tools that Sales & Delivery relies on every day - including forecasts, delivery metrics, Airflow jobs, and web applications.

This is not a shadowing internship. You will take ownership of real production work alongside the team’s data engineer, keep pipelines running, ship fixes, and handle routine tasks so senior engineers can focus on higher-impact development

What You’ll Do

• Build, maintain, and debug Airflow DAGs (schedules, data intervals, timezones, and source-table changes)
• Write and review SQL and Python for data pipelines
• Participate in the full cycle of internal web apps — development, deployment, and production support
• Investigate pipeline failures, missing data, and broken filters — from logs through to a pull request
• Help data scientists productionize recurring jobs (models, monthly runs, reporting)

What You’ll Bring

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong SQL and Python skills
• Comfortable with Git (branching, pull requests, and code reviews)
• Use AI tools to accelerate development and debugging, and help productionize AI-powered pipelines, agents, and internal tools
• Able to walk through a pipeline or project you have built end-to-end
• Structured thinking: able to turn a messy business request into a well-defined data job
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
