POSITION SUMMARY:As a Data Engineer at Beusa, you will own the performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency of our Databricks environment. You'll design and optimize Delta tables, pipelines, and SQL Warehouse workloads so teams get fast, trustworthy data at the lowest reasonable cost. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into high-performing, production-grade datasets and dashboards with clear SLAs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")

• BuildandoperateLakehousepipelinesonDatabricks(Bronze/Silver/Gold)using Delta Lake, Delta LiveTables (DLT), and/orJobs.
• Own ingestion patterns(Autoloader,CDC,streaming)optimization
• Own data modeling,quality checks,and performanceoptimization.
• Own performance optimization - profileandtuneSpark/SQL workloads:partitioning,clustering, constraints,liquidclustering (if applicable),manage table health.
• EngineerDelta tablesfor speed and cost:partitioning,Z-Ordering or clustering,constraints,filesizing;manage table healthwith AutoOptimize,OPTIMIZE,andVACUUM.
• Implement incremental processing patterns(MERGE with ChangeDataFeed,APPLY CHANGESINTO)withidempotencyand exactly-oncedelivery.
• Partnerwithdataconsumersto deliver reliable,well-documenteddatasetswith clearSLAs.
• Design,build,andimplement interactive dashboardsandreports using PowerBI and other visualizationtools.
• Collaborate withbusiness units(Operations,Field Engineers, Assets)togatherrequirementsandtranslate them into technicalsolutions.
• Developandmaintain data models,ensuringdata qualityandintegrity.
• Integrate datafrommultiplesources,including real-time fieldequipment andsensors.
• Continuously evaluate and adoptnewdatamanagementand analyticstechnologies.
• Educate and support stakeholders ondata toolsandbestpractices.
• Advocate forBeusa's digital transformationanddata-driven decision-making.
• Engage withtechnologyvendors andpartnersasneeded.
• Occasionaltravel to meetwithstakeholders.
• Perform otherrelated dutiesas assigned to assist with successful operationsand businesscontinuity.

Qualifications

POSITIONREQUIREMENTS

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship. 
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older. 
• Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s). 
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Most employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including 3-year U.S. driving history and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy. 
• Daily in person, predictable attendance in The Woodlands, TX.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCELEVEL

• Bachelor'sdegree inMIS,Computer Science,Engineering,IT,orrelatedfield. An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• 3-5+years of experienceina data-focused role (BusinessIntelligence, DataAnalysis,DataManagement,etc.). 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, ANDABILITIES

• Experience withDatabricksDataEngineering,including DeltaLive Tables(DLT).
• StrongPySpark/SparkSQLexperience.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience withrelational databases(Microsoft SQL Serverpreferred).
• Familiarity withDatabricksMedallion architecture.
• Proficiency in Power BI(preferred),Tableau,Spotfire, orSigma
• Experiencewithdashboardcreation,anddatavisualizationbestpractices.
• Ability tomanagemultipleprojectsand adapttochangingpriorities.
• Strong analytical,problem-solving,and communicationskills.
• Knowledge of datacleansing andpreparationforanalytics.
• Abilitytoexplaincomplex technical conceptstonon-technicalusers.
• Experience workingincross-functionalteams.

Frequently requiredtowalk,sit,climb,bend,reachand squat/kneel.The BusinessIntelligence Developerworksprimarily indoorsand willbesittingprolonged periodsof sitting at adeskand working on a computer.Mustbeabletoaccess andnavigateeach department attheorganization's facilities.TheBusinessIntelligenceDeveloper maybe required to lift heavyobjects;therefore, The Business Intelligence Developermust beableto lift25lbs.

Workhours may includeearlymorning,lateafternoon/eveninghours,and weekends in combinationdependingonjob demands.
