Job Description:
Experience Required: 4–7 Years in Data Center Discovery and Migration
What You'll Do
- Maintain data center operations to ensure service availability and reliability.
- Conduct hardware and network diagnostics and repairs.
- Perform root cause analysis of hardware and software failures.
- Provide training to internal teams.
- Develop documentation.
- Provide technical support to data center teams.
- Develop scripts to update server and networking hardware.
- Maintain inventory.
- Assemble and install equipment.
- Perform maintenance of test and tool equipment.
- Travel up to 10% of the time to other data center locations as required by business needs.
- Respond to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes while on scheduled on-call.
- Computer hardware experience, including troubleshooting and assembling.
- Linux operating system experience.
- Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods to perform diagnostic and repair tasks.
- Ability to maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces, such as under-floor areas or on ladders, to access server racks.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as handling small hardware components and cables.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment, including participating in a rotating on-call shift.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and react quickly to issues.
- Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled data center.
- Ability to perform essential job duties in an environment with fluctuating temperatures and variable airflow, specifically within designated hot and cold aisles, ranging from 60°F to 90°F.
- Hands-on or education-based experience in computer hardware, including troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Data center experience.
- Computer networking experience.
- Python, Bash, or other scripting languages experience.
- Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS.
- An associate degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
