Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategicData Architect with deep expertise in theFinancial Services data domain and hands-on proficiency inGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP) data engineering. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize scalable enterprise data solutions, ensuring data governance, security, and high performance while aligning technology solutions with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Strategy & Architecture: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure end-to-end data architectures on GCP for complex financial services datasets.
- Domain Alignment: Leverage deep knowledge of the financial sector—specifically aligning with regulatory reporting, risk management, or core banking frameworks (such as LBG standards or general Finance domain architectures).
- GCP Data Engineering Solutions: Architect data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and analytical platforms using GCP native services (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub).
- Data Governance & Quality: Establish frameworks for data governance, metadata management, lineage, and data quality assurance to meet rigorous compliance and auditing standards in finance.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders, to translate business requirements into technical data models.
- Optimization & Troubleshooting: Continuously evaluate current data systems, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement cost-effective, high-availability optimization strategies.
- Experience: Proven experience working as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer, ideally within theFinancial Services sector.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of financial data models, reporting requirements, and industry best practices (familiarity withLBG (Lloyds Banking Group) data standards or broader finance/banking domains is highly preferred).
- Cloud Expertise: Deep technical knowledge ofGCP Data Engineering tools and services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Apache Beam, Cloud Composer/Airflow, Dataproc).
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced SQL, Python, or Scala programming skills.
- Expertise in data modeling (Dimensional modeling, Data Vault, or Kimball methodologies).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and cloud security best practices.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a talent for translating complex business problems into clear technical designs; strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills.
