ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Maintain high levels of cleanliness, sanitation and organization in kitchen and related areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for food preparation and service.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils and other kitchen equipment.
• Stock and restock supplies such as food, utensils and cleaning products.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
• Keep track of inventory and supplies.
• Remove trash and recycling from the kitchen and dispose of it properly.
• Assist with basic food preparation and plating.
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is in good working condition.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to management.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience working as a kitchen steward or similar position preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation and food safety procedures.
• Knowledge of inventory management.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Organized and efficient.
• Detail-oriented.

• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Ability to twist, bend and squat frequently.
