2+ years' experience in IAM log monitoring (BAU) Strong grasp of IAM principles (authentication, authorisation, least privilege) Privileged access log monitoring (PAM context) Identify high-risk commands and detect inappropriate/unauthorised usage Understand escalation thresholds for security risk events Technical Skills Analyse security logs across: - Cloud: AWS, GCP, Azure, Alibaba Cloud - Databases: MS SQL, Oracle, Sybase, MongoDB, Teradata, PostgreSQL, DB2, DB cloud instances - OS/Directory: Unix/Linux, Windows, zSeries, iSeries, Active Directory - Virtualisation: VMware Triage alerts, validate events, and support reviewer queries Maintain evidence artefacts (log extracts, timestamps, references) Soft Skills Work independently with minimal supervision Proactive follow-up with reviewers/stakeholders to close queries Strong attention to detail for audit-ready documentation Time management to meet SLA commitments Clear written communication for updates and escalations Fast learner across new monitoring queues/tools Certification ITIL Foundation (service operations) CompTIA Security+ (baseline security) Cloud security certs (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP Security) as relevant IAM/PAM vendor certs (where applicable)
