Senior Commerce Solution Architect

EPAM Digital Engagement Practice (DEP) Poland is a strategic hub for commerce and experience transformation, bringing together more than 400 specialists across Commerce, Digital Experience, Content, Marketing, Loyalty, and AI-enabled delivery.

As aSenior Commerce Solution Architect, you will own end-to-end architecture across complex, multi-system digital commerce ecosystems. You will lead technology consulting and pre-sales engagements, partner with executive stakeholders, and help global organizations navigate the shift toward composable, AI-enabled commerce platforms.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of digital commerce by working with global enterprise clients on large-scale transformation initiatives. You will help define technology strategy, shape innovative AI-enabled solutions, mentor architects, and contribute to one of EPAM's strongest commerce and architecture communities. As part of DEP Poland, you will play a key role in strengthening EPAM's premier nearshore center for commerce transformation while advancing your expertise across architecture leadership, consulting, emerging AI technologies, and practice development.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture for large-scale commerce and digital experience programs spanning multiple platforms, including SAP Commerce, Adobe, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools, Shopify Plus, and BigCommerce, across both composable and suite-based ecosystems
• Define target-state architectures, technology roadmaps, and transformation strategies, including monolith-to-composable modernization, cloud migration, and platform reengineering initiatives
• Architect complex integration landscapes connecting commerce platforms with OMS, CDP, ERP, CRM, PIM, loyalty, and marketing ecosystems
• Establish architecture governance, design review processes, and reusable reference architectures across the practice
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, security and compliance requirements, and composable-core strategies
• Act as the primary escalation point for complex cross-functional technical and architectural challenges
• Define AI-driven commerce strategies, including intelligent personalization, GenAI-powered content operations, AI-assisted search and merchandising, and emerging agentic commerce capabilities
• Lead architectural decisions around integrating GenAI and LLM technologies into commerce ecosystems, including RAG architectures, vector search, platform-native AI services, and hyperscaler AI offerings
• Evaluate emerging AI interoperability standards, such as Agent-to-Agent (A2A) and Model Context Protocol (MCP), and advise clients on their business and technology implications
• Serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients develop practical and value-driven AI adoption roadmaps while addressing governance, security, and risk considerations
• Collaborate with EPAM's AI community to introduce innovative AI and agentic commerce capabilities into DEP Poland's service portfolio
• Lead technical pre-sales activities, including solution shaping, estimation, RFP/RFI responses, PoC/PoV definition, and executive-level presentations
• Facilitate discovery sessions, architecture workshops, and strategic consulting engagements with C-level stakeholders
• Translate business objectives, customer experience goals, and AI transformation ambitions into pragmatic and investment-ready technology roadmaps
• Assess existing client technology landscapes and build business cases for composable and AI-enabled transformation initiatives
• Identify growth opportunities through deep understanding of client technology ecosystems and business priorities
• Mentor Solution Architects, Software Architects, and engineering teams across multiple client engagements
• Contribute to and help lead DEP Poland's Architecture Community and Composable Digital Community by driving reusable assets, accelerators, best practices, and AI-related architectural patterns
• Play an active role in DEP Poland's architecture community, helping define standards, shape strategic direction, and support professional growth across all architecture levels
• Support the development and assessment of emerging architects on their path toward Solution Architect certification
• Represent DEP Poland's architecture capabilities in both client-facing engagements and internal strategic initiatives
• Shape the future of commerce transformation by helping clients adopt composable architectures, AI-enabled customer experiences, and emerging agentic commerce capabilities
• Collaborate with a global network of commerce, digital experience, and AI experts while contributing to innovative accelerators, reusable assets, and thought leadership initiatives
• Extend your influence beyond individual engagements by defining architecture standards, mentoring future architects, and driving strategic initiatives across DEP Poland and the broader EPAM organization
• Work on highly visible enterprise transformation programs that combine strategic consulting, architecture leadership, technology innovation, and measurable business impact
• Continue to grow your expertise across modern commerce platforms, cloud technologies, AI-driven solutions, and enterprise architecture practices while contributing to one of EPAM's most recognized technology communities

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software architecture, systems integration, consulting, or solution design, including at least 3 years in a Solution Architect role on complex commerce or digital experience programs
• Experience within retail, e-commerce, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries
• Deep architecture expertise in at least one enterprise commerce or digital experience platform, such as SAP Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce and AEM, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, commercetools, Shopify, or BigCommerce, combined with strong knowledge of the composable and MACH ecosystem
• Proven experience designing integrations across commerce, OMS, CDP, ERP (including SAP), CRM, and marketing technology platforms
• Strong cloud architecture expertise across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including microservices, containers, serverless architectures, and API management
• Working knowledge of agentic AI concepts, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging interoperability standards such as A2A and MCP
• Demonstrated success leading technical pre-sales engagements, effort estimation, proposal development, and executive stakeholder presentations
• Strong understanding of security, privacy, and regulatory compliance requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, and PCI DSS
• Experience mentoring architects and technical teams in complex delivery environments
• Excellent communication, consulting, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills
• English proficiency at C1 level or above

• Experience introducing AI-powered or agent-based capabilities into enterprise commerce solutions
• Hands-on experience leading migrations from monolithic platforms to composable or MACH-based architectures
• Involvement with the MACH Alliance or similar industry organizations
• Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), personalization platforms, DAM solutions, content operations, or loyalty ecosystems
• Previous experience in a Technology Consulting role or a strong interest in developing within this career path
• Relevant cloud, commerce platform, AI, or architecture certifications
• TOGAF certification or experience applying enterprise architecture frameworks
