Customer Data Service Back-end Java engineer

About The Job:

• Join the Customer Data Services (CDS) team to develop and support real-time, low-latency data engineering solutions.
• Design and build scalable backend systems that process large volumes of customer and business data.
• Develop high-performance Java applications that power critical enterprise services and data products.
• Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and product teams to deliver reliable and resilient platforms.
• Contribute to the modernization of data services using cloud-native and distributed system technologies.
• Ensure backend applications meet performance, availability, security, and scalability requirements.
• Support business transformation initiatives through innovative engineering and automation practices.

Essential Job Functions:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Java and related technologies.
• Build real-time data processing solutions with a strong focus on low-latency performance.
• Develop APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications supporting customer data platforms.
• Optimize application performance, database interactions, and system throughput.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture decisions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement preventive measures for system stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software aligned with business needs.

Qualifications:
Skill Requirement

• Strong hands-on experience in Core Java, Java 8+, and object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed backend applications.
• Good understanding of real-time data processing and low-latency system design concepts.
• Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and backend development best practices.
• Knowledge of messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices.

Additional Request

• Experience range: 9 to 60 months across software engineering, backend development, or data engineering roles.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and container technologies such as Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes is desirable.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a global offshore delivery model and Agile environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to innovation initiatives within Customer Data Services.
