Project Description
Kosovo’s education institutions are seeking educators experienced in curriculum development to strengthen university syllabi, academic programs, and national learning resources.Universities in Kosovo are modernizing their academic programs but face challenges in designing contemporary syllabi, updating course materials, and integrating innovative teaching approaches aligned with European standards. English language and literature departments at universities across the country require external support to refine English language teaching (ELT) and literature syllabi, improve student proficiency, and integrate creative methodologies. Social sciences departments also require assistance developing syllabi, gathering and organizing course materials, structuring reading lists, and finalizing updated curricula that reflect current pedagogical practices. Institutions stronger self-assessment processes, improved quality assurance mechanisms, and deeper engagement in research activities. Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) additionally seeks to expand environmental education resources, improve classroom application, collect school-level feedback, and strengthen nationwide teacher training.
As a Curriculum Design Advisor, you will co-teach university courses in English literature or social sciences while supporting the development of syllabi, resources, and academic programs. You will guide faculty in adopting student-centered teaching approaches, strengthening self‑evaluation tools, and improving quality assurance practices. Together, these efforts will elevate teaching quality, deepen research engagement, and create more relevant and engaging learning experiences for students.
Required Skills
Bachelor's or master's degree in education, preferably with a focus in curriculum or instruction.AND
Teaching certification or license with two or more years of relevant experience, including teaching and curriculum development.
Living Conditions
Volunteers typically live independently in Pristina district or other urban centers with access to cafés, markets, cultural events, and public transportation. Housing is modest and may experience occasional power outages or heating challenges in winter. Most Volunteers will live in an apartment, but some may live in small houses. The expected commute will most likely be between 20–40 minutes by bus, taxi, bike, or on foot.Job Highlights

Activities
Teach engaging university-level English language, literature, or social science courses.Develop syllabi, course materials, reading lists, and assessment methods.
Facilitate workshops and provide technical guidance for faculty and students.
Support research initiatives and assist in planning literature- and social science-based studies.
Strengthen academic program curricula and institutional quality assurance systems.
Prepare and improve university self-evaluation reports.
Develop pre-university environmental education resources for MESTI.
You may also work on additional projects that meet the community’s interests and priorities, such as leading academic writing clubs or student research circles.
Training
After two-week orientation on topics such as health and safety, you will move to an urban community where you will collaborate with the Ministry of Education or a university to assess the curriculum development needs and develop a work plan in line with their established goals.Peace Corps/Kosovo will equip you with Albanian language resources and you may work with a tutor who can help you build basic language skills to connect with the community.
