As the solar industry scales from gigawatts to terawatts, we are investing in marketing that is strategic, measurable, customer-focused, and built around exceptional brand experiences. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can turn global events and customer engagement into a business advantage.
Reports to: Vice President, Marketing
Location: Fremont, California
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Hybrid (three days per week at Fremont headquarters)
Position Overview
The Director, Global Events and Brand Experiences will lead Nextpower’s global events strategy, executive experiences, customer programs, field marketing activations, and event-based brand execution.
This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role for someone who can build world-class experiences, manage complex global programs, and connect event investments to measurable business outcomes. Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, this role partners closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership to deliver scalable event programs and customer experiences that strengthen the brand and support commercial growth.
Global Events and Customer Experiences
You will build and scale a global events program that strengthens the Nextpower brand, deepens customer relationships, supports commercial priorities, and creates measurable business impact.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and lead a global events strategy and annual plan aligned with business priorities, regional growth plans, product launches, customer segments, and sales objectives.
Own end-to-end planning and execution for trade shows, conferences, customer summits, executive briefings, partner events, hospitality programs, and internal marketing-led experiences.
Manage event budgets, creative development, production, logistics, staffing, agencies, vendors, executive engagement, scalable planning processes, and post-event reporting.
Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and executive leadership to define event goals, audience strategy, product storytelling, customer engagement plans, and executive participation.
Lead customer-facing event experiences—including messaging, presentations, booth environments, product demonstrations, signage, and collateral—to ensure brand consistency, technical accuracy, and compelling storytelling.
Direct and manage agencies, production partners, venues, fabricators, and vendors to ensure strong execution, brand quality, and fiscal discipline.
Measure event performance using KPIs, customer feedback, pipeline influence, executive engagement, sales follow-up, and ROI to improve future programs and guide investment decisions.
Brand Experience and Event Enablement
You will ensure consistent, high-quality brand execution across global events, sponsorships, field marketing programs, and executive engagements. Responsibilities include:
Serve as the brand steward for events by maintaining standards for booth design, signage, presentations, product displays, messaging, and customer experiences.
Develop and govern event and field marketing assets while enabling internal teams, agencies, and vendors with templates, toolkits, training, and brand guidelines.
Manage branded merchandise, promotional programs, company store needs and field branding initiatives.
Partner with Product Marketing, Regional Marketing, and Sales Enablement to develop scalable toolkits, customer-facing assets, and experience standards that support regional execution.
Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
You will lead with clarity, accountability, and a bias for action. This role requires strong team leadership, confident stakeholder management, and the ability to influence without relying on authority. Responsibilities include:
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global events and brand experience team of internal and external agencies and resources.
Set clear priorities and manage budgets, agencies, vendors, timelines, and resources to deliver successful programs.
Foster collaboration across Marketing, Sales, Product Management, Customer Success, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership.
Translate business priorities into clear event strategies, customer experiences, and execution roadmaps.
Use data and stakeholder feedback to guide investment decisions and continuous improvement.
Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, operational excellence, and hands-on leadership.
Qualifications
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, and communications, or a related field.
10 or more years of B2B marketing experience, with significant leadership responsibility in global events, experiential marketing, field marketing, customer marketing, or integrated marketing.
Proven success developing and executing global event strategies, executive experiences, customer programs, partner activations, and trade shows that support sales, product launches, customer engagement, and brand leadership.
Strong experience leading and managing teams, agencies, vendors, budgets, and complex cross-functional initiatives involving internal, external, and executive stakeholders.
Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and present clear recommendations to executive stakeholders
Experience using data, KPIs, and stakeholder feedback to evaluate event performance and guide investment decisions.
Strong understanding of brand standards, creative production, event design, customer experience, and field execution.
Preferred Experience
Experience in renewable energy, industrial technology, infrastructure, manufacturing, power generation, or other complex B2B markets, including marketing to developers, EPCs, utilities, asset owners, operators, and investors.
Experience managing events across North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, India, and Asia Pacific.
Experience supporting product launches, technical demonstrations, customer summits, executive briefings, and large-scale trade shows.
Experience developing event toolkits, brand systems, field marketing assets, and customer experience standards for global teams.
