Role summary:
The Director, Marketplace Growth & Commercial Finance will serve as a strategic finance partner to leaders responsible for accelerating seller, category, product, and platform growth across Walmart Marketplace. This leader will translate business strategy into clear financial plans, investment priorities, and measurable outcomes while balancing near-term performance with long-term value creation. The role will provide senior-level guidance on seller acquisition, assortment expansion, pricing, incentives, monetization, product, and technology. The successful candidate will bring strong commercial judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence decisions across a fast-moving, highly matrixed organization while building and developing a high-performing finance team.

Walmart’s Global Marketplace Finance team partners with leaders to drive key growth initiatives by delivering financial clarity and actionable insights. The team supports broader assortment, faster fulfillment, and trusted customer and seller experiences through collaboration across Marketplace, Walmart Fulfillment Services, and enterprise teams. They translate strategy into measurable financial outcomes via long-range planning, forecasting, and performance management. This dynamic group values intellectual curiosity, ownership, and practical problem-solving, offering opportunities to influence senior leadership and shape the future of Walmart’s global digital marketplace.

What you'll do:
Lead financial planning, forecasting, and decision support across Marketplace growth and commercial priorities. Build business cases for seller, category, pricing, incentive, product, and technology investments, and establish the financial and operational metrics required to measure success. Partner closely with Business, Merchandising, Product, Technology, Analytics, Strategy, and Finance teams to evaluate trade-offs, allocate resources, and improve performance. Provide clear, executive-ready insights and recommendations to senior leaders. Develop and coach finance talent, strengthen analytical capabilities, and create scalable processes. Flex across emerging priorities and complex strategic initiatives as Marketplace continues to evolve, expand globally, and unlock new revenue and profit opportunities.

• Proven ability to develop and communicate long-term financial strategies aligned with corporate goals.
• Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence senior leadership with actionable financial insights.
• Experience ensuring compliance with financial controls and enhancing reporting transparency.
• Proficiency in assessing risks and driving improvements in financial processes and systems.
