You will curate playlists, review music, mix live music, and adapt sets to match the vibe of each event or venue, from deck parties and themed nights, to family & adult activities - both onboard as well as out on Disney Castaway Cay & Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
You will report to theEntertainment Manager.
Responsibilities
- DJ for scheduled events, including deck parties, themed nights, family & adult programming, and late‑night venues.
- Curate and mix music tailored to the audience, venue, and event, while responding to room dynamics - always maintaining brand appropriateness.
- Maintain show integrity, standards of conduct, and quality levels while consistently performing the role as directed.
- Perform in environments that include pyrotechnics, chemical smoke, haze, fog, dry ice, and other special effects.
- Review onboard music selections to ensure alignment with Disney brand and content guidelines.
- Partner with the onboard technical team to ensure DJ performance equipment is functioning properly.
- Set up, strike, and facilitate shows, programs, and events at Disney show quality standards for family and adult audiences.
- Fulfil all Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay job responsibilities associated with the position and line of business.
- Support appropriate Guest flow throughout the ship by advising Guests of onboard activities and encouraging participation.
- Provide light emceeing and guest interaction during onboard events to create an inviting and energetic atmosphere as needed.
- Perform meet and greet duties during Guest embarkation and debarkation, as well as providing assistance to Guests with special needs outside the Walt Disney Theatre.
- Remain available, friendly, and Guest‑service oriented at all times.
- Serve as a mentor for new Crew Members.
- Fill in for programs as directed.
- Adhere to all rules and regulations governing company operations.
- Uphold Safety Management System (SMS) responsibilities within assigned areas and operations.
- Perform emergency duties as assigned and directed, as per the Ships Assembly Plan.
- Conduct required sanitizing procedures in accordance with USPH requirements when applicable to specific programs and events.
- Assist with Port Adventures operations, including dispatch duties and occasional Guest escorting, as the Disney representative when needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Participation in an audition and interview process is required
- Strong DJ, microphone, and teamwork skills with attention to detail, flexibility, and a commitment to Guest satisfaction.
- Ability to entertain and command the attention of large audiences across all age groups.
- Strong music knowledge with demonstrated mixing and beat‑mixing skills across popular music styles
- Confident microphone presence with strong public speaking abilities
- High energy level with adaptability and stamina to perform a seven‑day schedule
- Minimum of two years' professional DJ experience.
- Minimum of two years' experience in a role involving hosting, stage performance, and public speaking
- Ability to connect with audiences of all ages and demographics while demonstrating a passion for engaging Guests through entertaining & engaging programs and events

Applicants must:
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmentality requirements and Company practices
- Be willing to share a cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multi-cultural environment
- Be comfortable living in a confined space with strict rules and regulations
- Adhere to a structured lifestyle, personally and professionally
Your Responsibilities:
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
- Obtain a criminal background check
- Bring approved work shoes
