Description

This position is responsible for processing, evaluating, analyzing and approving (or recommending approval/denial if outside of authority) all indirect loans. Conducts complete credit analyses including gathering, analyzing and interpreting credit information on existing and prospective customers.  Reviews customer accounts and portfolios to identify, evaluate and determine the appropriate course of action on potential credit quality issues in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss to Connex.  Develop dealership training programs to facilitate loan processing.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Includes the following and other duties may be assigned.

  1. Responsible for quality underwriting of indirect loans and that all loans are processed in accordance with all State and Federal laws and regulations, and Connex’s policies and procedures.
  2. Responsible for timely callbacks to dealers on credit applications submitted.
  3. Responsible for proper compliance review (when applicable) of documents and loan packages submitted for loan funding.
  4. Responsible for accurate entry of all loan level data into systems.
  5. Assists with the management of automobile dealer relationships to maximize value to members and Connex.
  6. Reviews overall loan activities and assists in development of methods and procedures to improve effectiveness.
  7. Responsible for accurate and clear notations of any exceptions to internal loan policies in loan files.
  8. Assists the Senior Credit Analyst and VP of Indirect Lending in the development and implementation of dealer training programs, lending manual and policy manuals and the like in support of indirect lending directives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Well-rounded knowledge of the credit union and or lending industry, regulations and operation.
  • Four or more year’s consumer or indirect lending experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to problem solve in a concise, logical and timely manner.
  • Knowledge of loan origination and loan portal (Dealertrack, Route One and CU Direct) software.
  • High degree of honesty and integrity.
  • Continued education through selected training courses.
  • After hours required.
  • Microsoft 365 skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Some weekend, bank holiday and evening hours required.
