PEROT MUSEUM OF NATURE AND SCIENCE
  • 🇺🇸 United States
  • On-site
  • Manager or above

A top destination for North Texans and tourists alike, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a nonprofit educational organization in the heart of Dallas. With a mission to inspire minds through nature and science, the Perot Museum delivers exciting, engaging, and innovative experiences through its education, exhibition, and research and collections programming for children, schools, families, and lifelong learners.

Reporting to the Vice President of Exhibitions, theCreative Producer: Content & Exhibition Experiences is the Museum’s live engagement showrunner—leading the development of bold, story-driven experiences and content that turn scientific concepts into can’t-look-away activations and narratives. This role partners with a “creative room” of scientists, designers, and presenters to build guest experiences that support the Museum’s mission. The ideal candidate’s instinct for story will be persuasive and compelling, capable of turning big scientific ideas into moments our guests can’t stop talking about.

The candidate’s genuine wonder for the world will be contagious, turning guest interactions into shared moments of discovery—the same magic that turns an audience into fans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Creative Vision & Storytelling

  • Serve as the creative lead and showrunner for exhibition narratives and live experiences, shaping story arcs and content that resonate with guests.
  • Translate complex scientific principles into can’t-miss guest journeys; think in season arcs, not just individual scenes, while supporting the Museum’s mission and key initiatives.

  • Pitch and develop bold, industry-leading activations that use science as the hook, inspiring guests of all ages and sparking genuine wonder and curiosity.

  • Champion an accessible, entertainment-savvy approach to science communication and oversee the development of seamless bilingual (English and Spanish) content.

  • Stay plugged into what’s new in entertainment, themed experiences, and science communication, keeping the Museum’s “shows” ahead of the curve.

Building the Room

  • Partner with exhibit department managers, cross-functional teams, subject matter experts, and designers—“your creative room”—to unify science and big ideas into one cohesive, institution-wide story.

  • Run the cross-divisional review process, ensuring every piece of content meets the Museum’s standards for scientific accuracy, institutional tone, and guest impact. Think “notes sessions.”

  • Identify and manage freelance writers and creative consultants to maintain a consistent, authoritative voice across every exhibition.

  • Use guest feedback and evaluation data the way a studio uses test screenings—to refine current experiences and sharpen what comes next.

Running the Show

  • Manage internal and external content schedules like a production calendar, delivering high-quality creative work on time and on budget.

  • Document and champion best practices in exhibition content development, from pitch to premiere (installation), to protect a premier guest experience every time.

Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a storyteller first—someone who thinks like a producer or creative director, with the curiosity and collaborative instincts to turn scientific ideas into can’t-miss guest experiences.

  • At least 5 years of experience developing content for entertainment, themed experiences, television or streaming production, exhibitions, or guest-facing activations. Experience with a science or natural history background is a plus, but not a requirement.

  • A creative professional who is ready to step up and is comfortable pitching ideas, taking notes in the room, and running point on a project without losing sight of the bigger vision.

  • A natural storyteller who can balance technical precision with an evocative, mission-driven narrative.

  • Emerging project management skills and the drive to lead, or grow into leading, multidisciplinary creative teams toward one shared vision.

  • Comfort incorporating guest feedback and evaluation insights into the next draft of an experience.

  • A deep commitment to the Museum’s core values and mission, with the instinct to know a good story when you see one.
