BAE Systems is seeking an Oracle Cost System SME to serve as the functional subject matter expert responsible for the oversight and maintenance of our Oracle cost system. In this role, you will ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency within our cost systems to support critical program execution.
In this job, you will:
- Serve as the Functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the Oracle cost system.
- Review inventory transaction data and initiate necessary corrective actions to ensure data integrity.
- Research financial data and develop performance reports and recommendations for management, ensuring all reporting complies with Corporate financial standards (FAP/LCM) and FAR/CAS.
- Maintain detailed documented records supporting financial adjustments to satisfy Internal, External, or Government audit requests.
- Interface with government auditors, providing essential support to ensure a clear understanding of financial data, methodology, and applicability under government regulations.
- Analyze financial information, prepare journal vouchers, and verify results through rigorous account reconciliation to ensure completeness and conformance with accounting procedures.
- Develop complex spreadsheet analysis models and prepare briefings for presentation to functional managers, program managers, and external customers.
Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area and 4 years of experience or equivalent experience
- General knowledge of accounting, financial and cost estimating theory and practice.
- General knowledge of material planning
- Sound computer skills with ability to create spreadsheets used for financial analysis.
- Good interpersonal skills in dealing with customers, auditors (internal and external), peers, functional managers, and program management
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Good planning, time management and organization skills
- Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
