As Corporate Sustainability Officer, you take ownership of advancing Sopra Steria’s sustainability and ESG agenda in the Netherlands. You translate Group commitments into practical local priorities, measurable results and initiatives that colleagues can actively contribute to. 

You build on existing policies, programmes and expertise. Working with local leadership, business units, support functions and Group sustainability colleagues, you identify what is already in place, connect ongoing activities and determine where further action is needed. 

This is a senior position that combines strategic influence with practical delivery. You build relationships across the organisation, create engagement and turn plans into action. You are equally comfortable discussing priorities with senior leadership, facilitating a working session and personally following up on implementation. 

• Translate Group sustainability commitments into a local ESG programme with clear priorities, actions, responsibilities and measurable outcomes. 
• Build an active internal network and engage colleagues in sustainability initiatives, including where you have no direct authority. 
• Work with leadership and business teams to embed sustainability into decisions, operations, client solutions and value creation. 
• Coordinate ESG governance, sustainability reporting, regulatory compliance and performance management, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, double materiality, ESG disclosures and sustainability data. 
• Drive initiatives across climate and environment, inclusion and workforce, responsible digital and societal engagement. 
• Communicate progress clearly, address resistance constructively and raise risks or decisions with the relevant stakeholders in time. 

You operate in an international technology and consulting business serving corporate and public sector clients. You connect sustainability ambitions with the practical realities of a services organisation and its commercial priorities. 

Further:

• You bring senior experience in sustainability or ESG, with demonstrated responsibility for taking an agenda from priorities through to implementation. 
• You can demonstrate how you have built internal relationships, gained commitment and delivered change across teams without relying on formal authority. 
• You have experience affinity with technology, consulting and responsible digital. Experience within IT services or consulting is an advantage. 
• You have practical knowledge of ESG regulations and reporting frameworks such as CSRD, EU Taxonomy and double materiality. 
• You are comfortable working with sustainability data, KPIs, dashboards and reporting processes. 
• You combine sound judgement and organisational awareness with the willingness to carry out operational work yourself. 
• You work independently, actively seek the information and feedback you need, and know when to involve others or escalate an issue. 
• You communicate clearly with senior leadership and colleagues across the organisation, making complex topics understandable and actionable. 
• You bring a clear personal motivation for sustainability and can explain how you have translated that motivation into results. 
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required. Another European language is a plus.
