Job Purpose:
To attract and manage prospective and existing corporate customers and provide the necessary financial and credit analysis to facilitate the provision of banking facilities. The role is responsible for implementing a strong growth plan for prospective and existing customers, expanding customer relationships, increasing the Bank’s market share, and managing accounts in accordance with applicable risk management requirements.
The position is also responsible for closely monitoring credit commitments and ensuring compliance with all credit covenants, conditions, regulatory requirements, and risk controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify opportunities to attract new customers and strengthen relationships with existing customers in order to establish and maintain a strong business pipeline and achieve portfolio growth.
- Take proactive initiatives to identify opportunities within the existing credit portfolio for business growth and enhancement. Monitor competitive and market-related information and provide appropriate advice and recommendations to retain and expand relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Conduct sector, industry, commercial, economic, and financial studies relating to customers and provide relevant findings and recommendations to the direct manager.
- Prepare comprehensive credit assessments and credit proposals supported by qualitative and quantitative analysis, clearly articulating the rationale for the requested credit facilities and proposing appropriate risk-mitigation measures. Review the structure, pricing, and terms of facilities to ensure compliance with the Bank’s credit policies and guidelines. Verify the completeness and accuracy of all required information and documentation, ensure compliance with approved credit terms and policies, and submit credit proposals and supporting documents to the relevant credit functions through the direct manager.
- Maintain regular contact with corporate customers in coordination with the relevant business units to promote the Bank’s products and services and provide customers with appropriate solutions, including banking and trade-finance products such as: (Warehousing Finance, Receivables Financing, Supply Chain Financing) and any other relevant corporate financing solutions, in addition to promote the Bank’s cash management products and services, such as: Sweeping, Account Aggregation, MT940, .. etc.)
- Receive and coordinate customer requests and ensure that they are submitted to the relevant internal departments and followed up to completion with the required level of speed and accuracy, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular field visits to existing, target, and prospective corporate customers to strengthen relationships, identify new business opportunities, attract new customers, and increase the Bank’s corporate banking portfolio.
- Monitor overdraft accounts, customers exceeding approved limits, and outstanding amounts owed by corporate customers. Communicate with customers and coordinate with the relevant internal departments to ensure timely collection of the Bank’s receivables.
- Monitor the utilization of credit facilities by corporate customers and encourage them to expand their business relationship with the Bank in order to increase the profitability of the Bank and, consequently, enhance the profitability of the Corporate Banking portfolio.
- Market the Bank’s products and services relevant to corporate customers in order to increase sales and generate additional business.
- Manage and direct the team’s business-development efforts related to acquiring new corporate customers, monitor progress, and ensure achievement of the team’s portfolio targets, thereby contributing to the growth of the Bank’s overall corporate portfolio.
- Monitor accounts showing early warning signs and assess their financial condition, management capabilities, and any internal or external factors that may affect their performance, for the purpose of preparing an Early Warning System (EWS) memorandum and submitting it to the relevant committee for appropriate decision-making.
- Provide all relevant information relating to accounts designated by the relevant committee for transfer to the Credit Remedial/Workout Unit, enabling the Unit to manage such accounts effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, or another relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant banking experience, including at least 2 years of experience in Corporate Banking/ Corporate Credit Facilities.
- Experience dealing with companies and commercial and industrial groups is preferred.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of economic and business environments.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to effectively use banking systems and applications.
- Thorough knowledge of the Bank’s products and services.
- Strong direct and consultative sales skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the policies and procedures governing the relevant business activities, including internal and external regulatory requirements and their updates.
