Join Amazon's Legal Devices team as a Corporate Counsel and become a trusted strategic partner to our global hardware business. You'll provide commercially grounded legal guidance across our full consumer hardware portfolio, spanning component sourcing, manufacturing, technology licensing, and product launch, while building legal capability across international teams.

In this client-facing role, you'll work daily with business partners across the globe, translating complex legal concepts into actionable business strategies. You'll counsel teams on contract negotiation, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and risk management as a collaborative advisor in fast-moving, high-stakes environments. You'll also visit and train client teams internationally and become familiar with real-world factories and operations to better be able to partner with our internal customers.

Key job responsibilities
• Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements for hardware manufacturing, global procurement, and technology licensing across multiple jurisdictions
• Counsel supply chain, procurement, and engineering teams on intellectual property, licensing structures, regulatory compliance, and contractual risk
• Partner with international manufacturing and procurement teams to assess supplier compliance and provide legal guidance across regions
• Manage contract disputes involving critical device components, driving resolution alongside business clients with a focus on commercial outcomes
• Develop training materials and risk frameworks that enable global business partners to manage legal issues independently
• Travel internationally (generally not more than once a year) to meet with and train client teams


A day in the life
Your day will be a blend of strategic legal counseling, contracts negotiation, and collaborative problem-solving. As Corporate Counsel, you'll engage with cross-functional teams, diving into fascinating legal challenges surrounding international consumer electronics manufacturing and supply chains as well as emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, ambient computing, and wearables and maturing areas like smart speakers, security cameras, tablets, TVs, and eReaders. Each day brings unique opportunities to provide nuanced legal guidance that supports Amazon's rapid innovation.

Basic qualifications

- 5+ years of legal experience
- 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent

Preferred qualifications

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Knowledge of manufacturing, international supply chain, and logistics

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
