TalentBridge is partnering with an established, growing organization seeking a strong Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who has a solid understanding of accounting principles, enjoys working in the general ledger, and takes ownership of their work.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in corporate accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. We are looking for someone who understands thewhy behind accounting transactions, can confidently navigate debits and credits, and has the analytical ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
While industry-specific accounting experience is a plus, it is not required. The organization is willing to provide training to someone who brings strong fundamental accounting skills, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general ledger accounting activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Analyze account activity, investigate variances, and identify potential accounting issues.
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and support schedules.
- Support internal and external audit requests and documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.
- Partner with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting questions and support business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a strong accounting foundation.
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and fundamental accounting principles.
- Ability to confidently explain and apply debits, credits, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close and account analysis.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn new processes and industry-specific accounting practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a multi-entity or complex corporate accounting environment.
- CPA or CPA-track candidates are welcome but certification is not required.
- Experience supporting process improvements or accounting system enhancements.
- Exposure to project accounting, cost accounting, or work-in-progress accounting is a plus, but not required.
