Job Summary:
The Coordinator for Retention and Academic Success is a key member of the Academic Affairs division and serves as a primary support for student academic achievement and persistence. Reporting to the Dean of CASE, this position works collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to develop strategies that promote student retention and overall academic success.Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive academic advising using academic management systems to guide students toward successful degree completion.

Design and implement individualized academic plans aligned with the students personal and career aspirations.

Coordinate academic placement testing and ensure compliance with institutional and state standards.

Monitor students’ academic progress and coordinate early intervention initiatives for students identified as at-risk, fostering persistence and success.

Oversee office student worker supervision

Collect, analyze, and interpret student performance and engagement data to identify trends, forecast challenges, and inform retention strategies.

Develop and manage digital outreach, marketing, and recruitment campaigns to promote advising services and increase student engagement.

Represent the department at orientation programs, recruitment events, and retention initiatives, including occasional evening and weekend commissions
Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000

Additional Qualifications and Competencies:

Proficiency in educational technology and academic platforms such as Colleague, EAB

Navigate, Microsoft Office Suite, and communication/collaboration tools.

Experience with data analysis, management, and reporting.

Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Experience advising students, particularly those with disabilities or from underrepresented backgrounds.

Ability to identify student behavioral trends and communicate findings effectively.

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; demonstrated use of data to promote equitable student outcomes.

Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Ability to participate in occasional evening or weekend recruitment and retention events.

Fluency in a language other than English is preferred.
Education and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
-
Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, data analytics, or business administration required.
-
1–3 years of related experience in academic advising, student support, or retention services

Experience developing and maintaining community partnerships.

Experience working directly with community-based organizations.

Familiarity with service-learning, civic engagement, volunteer management, or leadership development programs.
